ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਤਾ ॥

dhan dhan har jan jin har prabh jaataa ||

Blessed, blessed are the humble servants of the Lord, who know the Lord God.

ਜਾਇ ਪੁਛਾ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਬਾਤਾ ॥

jai puchhaa jan har kee baataa ||

I go and ask those humble servants about the Mysteries of the Lord.

ਪਾਵ ਮਲੋਵਾ ਮਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਧੋਵਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਚੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

paav malovaa mal mal dhovaa mil har jan har ras peechai jeeau ||2||

I wash and massage their feet; joining with the humble servants of the Lord, I drink in the Sublime Essence of the Lord. ||2||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦਾਤੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਿੜਾਇਆ ॥

satigur dhaatai naam dhiRaiaa ||

The True Guru, the Giver, has implanted the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me.

ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

vaddabhaagee gur dharasan paiaa ||

By great good fortune, I have obtained the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਸਚੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬੋਲੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਲੀਚੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

a(n)mirat ras sach a(n)mrit bolee gur poorai a(n)mrit leechai jeeau ||3||

The True Essence is Ambrosial Nectar; through the Ambrosial Words of the Perfect Guru, this Amrit is obtained. ||3||

ਹਰਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਤ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਾਈਐ ॥

har satasa(n)gat sat purakh milaieeaai ||

O Lord, lead me to the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, and the true beings.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥

mil satasa(n)gat har naam dhiaaieeaai ||

Joining the Sat Sangat, I meditate on the Lord's Name.

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲੀ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਪਰੀਚੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੬॥

naanak har kathaa sunee mukh bolee gurmat har naam pareechai jeeau ||4||6||

O Nanak, I listen and chant the Lord's Sermon; through the Guru's Teachings, I am fulfilled by the Name of the Lord. ||4||6||

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

maajh mahalaa chauthhaa ||

Maajh, Fourth Mehla:

ਆਵਹੁ ਭੈਣੇ ਤੁਸੀ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਪਿਆਰੀਆ ॥

aavahu bhaine tusee milahu piaareeaa ||

Come, dear sisters-let us join together.

ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦਸੇ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀਆ ॥

jo meraa preetam dhase tis kai hau vaareeaa ||

I am a sacrifice to the one who tells me of my Beloved.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਲਧਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਘੁਮਾਈਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

mil satasa(n)gat ladhaa har sajan hau satigur viTahu ghumaieeaa jeeau ||1||

Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I have found the Lord, my Best Friend. I am a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||1||

ਜਹ ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਤਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥

jeh jeh dhekhaa teh teh suaamee ||

Wherever I look, there I see my Lord and Master.

ਤੂ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥

too ghaT ghaT raviaa a(n)tarajaamee ||

You are permeating each and every heart, O Lord, Inner-knower, Searcher of Hearts.

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਲਿ ਦਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਸਦ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

gur poorai har naal dhikhaaliaa hau satigur viTahu sadh vaariaa jeeau ||2||

The Perfect Guru has shown me that the Lord is always with me. I am forever a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||2||

ਏਕੋ ਪਵਣੁ ਮਾਟੀ ਸਭ ਏਕਾ ਸਭ ਏਕਾ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਬਾਈਆ ॥

eko pavan maaTee sabh ekaa sabh ekaa jot sabaieeaa ||

There is only one breath; all are made of the same clay; the light within all is the same.

ਸਭ ਇਕਾ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਭਿਨਿ ਭਿਨਿ ਨ ਰਲਈ ਕਿਸੈ ਦੀ ਰਲਾਈਆ ॥

sabh ikaa jot varatai bhin bhin na raliee kisai dhee ralaieeaa ||

The One Light pervades all the many and various beings. This Light intermingles with them, but it is not diluted or obscured.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਇਕੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਵਤਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

gur parasaadhee ik nadharee aaiaa hau satigur viTahu vataiaa jeeau ||3||

By Guru's Grace, I have come to see the One. I am a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||3||

ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੋਲੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥

jan naanak bolai a(n)mirat baanee ||

Servant Nanak speaks the Ambrosial Bani of the Word.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਭਾਣੀ ॥

gursikhaa(n) kai man piaaree bhaanee ||

It is dear and pleasing to the minds of the GurSikhs.

ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਕਰੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੭॥

aupadhes kare gur satigur pooraa gur satigur paraupakaareeaa jeeau ||4||7||

The Guru, the Perfect True Guru, shares the Teachings. The Guru, the True Guru, is Generous to all. ||4||7||

ਸਤ ਚਉਪਦੇ ਮਹਲੇ ਚਉਥੇ ਕੇ ॥

sat chaupadhe mahale chauthe ke ||

Seven Chau-Padhay Of The Fourth Mehla. ||

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਚਉਪਦੇ ਘਰੁ ੧ ॥

maajh mahalaa panjavaa chaupadhe ghar pehilaa ||

Maajh, Fifth Mehla, Chau-Padhay, First House:

ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਲੋਚੈ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨ ਤਾਈ ॥

meraa man lochai gur dharasan taiee ||

My mind longs for the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan.

ਬਿਲਪ ਕਰੇ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ ॥

bilap kare chaatirak kee niaaiee ||

It cries out like the thirsty song-bird.

ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਦਰਸਨ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

tirakhaa na utarai saa(n)t na aavai bin dharasan sa(n)t piaare jeeau ||1||

My thirst is not quenched, and I can find no peace, without the Blessed Vision of the Beloved Saint. ||1||

ਹਉ ਘੋਲੀ ਜੀਉ ਘੋਲਿ ਘੁਮਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

hau gholee jeeau ghol ghumaiee gur dharasan sa(n)t piaare jeeau ||1|| rahaau ||

I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to the Blessed Vision of the Beloved Saint Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਤੇਰਾ ਮੁਖੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਜੀਉ ਸਹਜ ਧੁਨਿ ਬਾਣੀ ॥

teraa mukh suhaavaa jeeau sahaj dhun baanee ||

Your Face is so Beautiful, and the Sound of Your Words imparts intuitive wisdom.

ਚਿਰੁ ਹੋਆ ਦੇਖੇ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥

chir hoaa dhekhe saari(n)gapaanee ||

It is so long since this rainbird has had even a glimpse of water.

ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਦੇਸੁ ਜਹਾ ਤੂੰ ਵਸਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਜਣ ਮੀਤ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

dha(n)nu su dhes jahaa too(n) vasiaa mere sajan meet muraare jeeau ||2||

Blessed is that land where You dwell, O my Friend and Intimate Divine Guru. ||2||

ਹਉ ਘੋਲੀ ਹਉ ਘੋਲਿ ਘੁਮਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਸਜਣ ਮੀਤ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

hau gholee hau ghol ghumaiee gur sajan meet muraare jeeau ||1|| rahaau ||

I am a sacrifice, I am forever a sacrifice, to my Friend and Intimate Divine Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਨ ਮਿਲਤੇ ਤਾ ਕਲਿਜੁਗੁ ਹੋਤਾ ॥

eik ghaRee na milate taa kalijug hotaa ||

When I could not be with You for just one moment, the Dark Age of Kali Yuga dawned for me.

ਹੁਣਿ ਕਦਿ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਗਵੰਤਾ ॥

hun kadh mileeaai pria tudh bhagava(n)taa ||

When will I meet You, O my Beloved Lord?
